Collars are a very important part of your roof and ridge caps

A collar is where two ridge caps over lap. Leaving a slight gap. This should be pointed. Over time old collars fall away allowing wind to blow into this small gap. This should be fixed as soon as possible. I've been to a lot of roof repairs after a windy day where ridge caps have lifted
